Baldur's Gate 3: How to Use the Adamantine Forge (BG3)
Good enough for Frodo.
Before you head into the thick of Act 2 in Baldur’s Gate 3, you definitely want to get at least one item out of the Adamantine Forge, but this isn’t your average forge meant for standard weapons. Instead, you need to right materials for the job, along with the knowledge that goes into using one of these ancient forges.
You need at least one Mithril Ore and one Mould in order to properly use the Adamantine Forge in Grymforge. There are five different Moulds around the Grymforge and Underdark section of Baldur’s Gate. To save some time though, you can check the small room to the left of the massive staircase before the Adamantine Forge. There you can find at least one piece of Mithril Ore and a Mould.
With both of these items, head back to the center of the Adamantine Forge. You need to approach the Mould lever and add one of your Moulds to the machine. Then you can head to the Crucible in the center of the forge platform. Interact with this as well and place the Mithril Ore inside. Now head to the main lever on the edge of the platform and the forge will descend.

At this point, there will be a massive boss named Grym that approaches with a wave of lava. The boss needs to go down before you can craft your equipment for real at the Adamantine Forge. Just use the lava and the hammer as your main advantage.
Once the boss is down, you can simply use the forge lever at the bottom left of the Adamantine Forge. A giant hammer will fall down on the Crucible and your final Mithril item will pop out of the Mould section. If you want another item, then follow the same process without any bosses to worry about.

If you manage to find the Adamantine chest near the forge as well, then you should try to lockpick the container as soon as you can. Relying on smashing it open won’t necessarily work here unless you have incredibly strong bludgeoning.
Rogue characters can easily pick the lock and you can empty out all the contents at camp. I pulled out the Bloodlust Potion and was able to open the chest in one attempt, so I know your Rogue can get it done in no time.
